Where in the bible does it tell you the names of the dancers and/or the people who danced for the Lord to worship Him?
Answer
In 2 Samuel 6:14-16 David danced “before the Lord.” It does not specifically say this was in worship to God, but it probably was.
In Exodus 15:20, Miriam and some of the women of Israel danced. Immediately afterward it tells of a song Miriam sang praising God. So it is possible that she could be said to have danced in worship of God.
These are the only times in the Bible where any mention is made of dancing in close association with worshipping God. Even though David appointed specific priests to play and sing in worship of God he never appointed dancers for the worship. Although others are said to have danced for joy, those dances are not associated with worship of God.
