What Does the Bible Say About..Frontlets?

What does frontlets mean? What is it?

“Frontlets” (also called phylacteries in Matthew 23:5) are pieces of parchment on which are written certain passages from the Law of Moses and are worn in a box tied to the forehead or the left arm by observant Jews during prayers. In most places today, Jewish worshippers only wear them during communal prayers in synagogue, although a few wear them at home during specific times of prayer. The practice was not generally followed among non-Jewish Christians, although there were probably some Jewish Christians that continued the practice.
