What Does the Bible Say About..Islam, Mohammed, and Muslims Going to Heaven?
What does the Bible say about the "prophet Mohommed" and Islam? Do Muslims go to Heaven?
Answer
The Bible says nothing about Islam and Mohammed, because Mohammed was born 500 years after the Bible was completed. Thus the Bible says nothing about him, just as it says nothing about America, Napoleon, or Abraham Lincoln.
Will Muslims go to heaven? If you accept that "for there is none other name [than Jesus] under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12), then it would be difficult for Muslims, who refuse to accept that Jesus is the Messiah, to go to heaven. Since the Muslim concept of salvation, and even of God, is different from that presented in the Bible, then one must almost say that if the Bible is true then Muslims will not go to heaven. This is because the gospel which leads to salvation, according to Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, says that Jesus was crucified, was buried, resurrected on the third day, and was seen after his resurrection. Most Muslims reject the idea that Jesus died to take away sin, and that he was raised from the dead. Without accepting those basic beliefs, then they reject the whole of salvation as taught in the New Testament.
In spite of some common background in Judaism, the religion of Islam and the religion of Christianity are so fundamentally different that one can not accept both. Thus, if one accepts the Christian view of heaven and salvation one must reject the Muslim view, and vice versa.
