Should Christians wear jewelry? I heard we shouldn’t, but they never giving me a scripture.
Answer
They can’t give you a scripture saying Christians shouldn’t wear jewelry, because there is none. The closest thing to a scripture banning jewelry would be 1 Timothy 2:9-10. “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.” Paul doesn’t appear to be condemning jewelry itself, but the attitude of trying to outdo others in looking fashionable. Christian women should let their works speak to their beauty and not their clothing and jewelry. That doesn’t necessarily mean, though, that they should not wear jewelry or nice clothes. Additionally, the passage doesn’t say anything about men and jewelry. That would also indicate that the clothing and jewelry is not what is really in question, but the works and the attitude.
