What would Music sound like in Heaven. Since Heaven is for eternity. Then that would mean there is no time or time is not a factor. And if there is no time then there is no beat. So it boggles my mind to think what it would be like. Any Suggestions?
Answer
There is a lot about heaven that boggles my mind. This has not previously been one of them, but now that you bring it up, it is hard to get my mind around it. The Bible does not explain this, so anything I would say is pure speculation.
In heaven we will be in a different body (1 Corinthians 15) and outside of time as we know it. So it is probable that music will be totally different from what we now conceive. I can’t imagine what it would be like. Try to imagine a non-linear piece of music. The beginning is the end and the middle wraps around both. The closest I can come is the concept of James Joyce’s “Finnegan’s Wake,” where the final line of the book is actually the first part of the first line. But even that book, as hard as it was to read, was essentially time linear. You can’t hear it all at the same “time” and yet it still be distinct.
I could probably speculate for a long time on this. But your guess is as good as mine.
