What Does the Bible Say About..Science and the Bible?

What does it mean to us as Christians that these two scientist won a Nobel Prize for their work on the Big Bang Theory? Should we as God's people be concerned about things science is finding out about the universe and of mankind?

Answer

I think Christians should be happy when scientists find out about the universe and mankind. If the Bible is true, as I believe it is, then it has nothing to fear from science. Since God created the universe and all that is in it, study of science should ultimately bring some people to belief in God. “Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.” (Act 14:17) “Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them [ungodly men]; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because than, when they knew God, the glorified him not as od, nether were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” (Romans 1:19-21)

If God created everything then every study of science will just reveal God even more clearly to those who know him. Those who choose to blind themselves to God will refuse to see him, although his creative power is obvious in what they discover.
