You didn't specify whether you wanted percentage of world population (approximately 33%) or percentage of U.S. population (approximately 86.2%). Keep in mind that these numbers are percentages of adult populations and are based on what individuals claim to be their religion, whether or not they actively participate. In both cases, Christianity is the largest single religious affiliation, followed by Muslim.
The numbers for the U.S. are approximate. In just a few weeks or months the results of the 2000 census will be published and should be fairly accurate.
