What Does the Bible Say About..Value?

Self doubt is the topic and I know in all my years in religion classes there is a verse/chapter/etc in the Bible where God says something to the effect that we should doubt ourselves and our worth and the fact that we have a purpose because God created all of us in his likeness. Basically he comes out and says God does not make mistakes you are not a mistake. You are worthy, Please help me find this for a friend in desperate need of hearing these words. Thank you for your time.

Answer

In Genesis 1:31, after God finished the creation, it says “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” That may be the closest the Bible comes to saying God doesn’t create mistakes.

On the personal level, though, perhaps a better scripture would be the words of Jesus. “Are not two sparrows sold for a fathing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:29, 31) God values every person. How much does God value each person? So much that he was willing to allow his only son to die so that any person’s sins might be forgiven. In the style of a recent credit card commercial: “one soul: priceless.”
